Zoe Accepted to MIT!
First of all let me say I’m sorry I haven’t posted the last three episodes of Zoe Radio here at the site. They will be coming soon. I hope you’ve had a chance to check them out on Little Radio.
But more importantly I wanted to drop the update and say CONGRATS to Zoe on getting accepted to MIT. The MIT app actually referenced Zoe Radio, so THANK YOU to everyone who has supported this show over the last four years.

Zoe/Beastie Boys @ The Greek, Los Angeles
Thanks to everyone who sent in kind words of support, and to Robert R for the blog action. Zoe’s set at The Greek Monday night went off without a hitch.
It was shorter than Zoe had hoped for — the union had a dark stage until 7:30pm so she couldn’t start at 6:45 as she’d hoped. The crowd was kind and even cheered as she started Ratatat and waved good night.

Zoe Opening for Beastie Boys Monday
Beastie Boys are playing The Greek Theater in Los Angeles Sunday and Monday. They were looking for an opening DJ. I suggested a number of DJs/bands, none of whom I was related to. Mike mailed asking if Zoe was in town and I, thinking it was unrelated to the DJ conversation, said yes and that perhaps he’d see her on Saturday (we’re “vacationing” around the corner from his house but that’s another story). Then the more direct question came: would Zoe be interested in playing music to set the vibe before the show? Um, YES.
I made sure everyone knows that Zoe is a DJ in the 1950s sense of the word not the DJ Premier sense of the word — she’s not going to be on stage cuttin’ James Brown going “1 2 3″ with her elbow or anything. They said they knew, they just wanted good music to set the vibe.
So that excellent audio you’re hearing while you’re getting your t-shirt and pre-show sausage is my kid, yo. Please cheer, and if you see some drunkard boo, deck ‘em for me.
